About this activity

Explore Hohhot's most significant cultural landmarks in a single day with a private guide, visiting three historic temples and a world-class museum that together reveal the city's rich Buddhist heritage and Inner Mongolian history. This comprehensive 8.5-hour tour includes hotel pickup, lunch, and in-depth commentary on sites spanning from Ming Dynasty architecture to ancient Chinese history.

At 8:30am, you will be picked up from your centrally located Hohhot hotel, then head to the Five-Pagoda Temple. The Five-Pagoda Temple is the landmark of the city Hohhot. Though it is a Tibetan Buddhism Temple, this temple is combination of Han Chinese and Tibetan architectural style.

The Zhaojun Tomb is covered by green grass, Zhaojun is one of the famous ladies in Chinese history, who married with a Hun's Khan about 2000 years ago for the Armistice agreement between Huns and China. Zhaojun Tomb is one of the existing largest tombs of Han Dynasty in China.

Dazhao Temple is the oldest and largest temple in Hohhot in the Inner Mongolia. It was built in 1580 in Ming Dynasty. Usually, the local people call it Silver Buddha Temple because there is a 2.5-meter-high silver statue of Sakyamuni in it. It is interesting to view the impressive buildings, splendid statues, delicate frescos, musical instruments and rich collection of Buddhist scriptures in the Dazhao Temple.
