About this activity

An 8-hour luxury boat excursion from Sorrento circumnavigating Capri, Italy's most dramatic island, featuring the iconic Blue Grotto, multiple sea caves, and secluded swimming stops in crystalline waters. This guided cruise combines geological wonders, scenic viewpoints, and a coastal restaurant meal into a single immersive experience.

Boarding and departure for Capri, the jewel of the Gulf of Naples, known for its fabulous cliffs, the fascinating Blue Grotto, the White Cave (or the Grotta dello Champagne) and the Grotta Verde. Sailing through the island, your captain will lead you to the discovery of hidden bays where you can swim in the cobalt blue sea of Capri.

During the tour you can admire the statue of Scugnizzo, the Salto di Tiberio, the Grotta del Corallo, the Arco Naturale, the Villa Malaparte, the Faraglioni, the Baia di Marina Piccola, the Scoglio delle Sirene and the Punta Carena Lighthouse. There will be a stop for a snack in one of the best restaurants on the island, located right on the coast. In the afternoon we will sail along the coast of the Sirene Country to return to the port of departure.

Highlights

  • Blue Grotto and White Cave (Grotta dello Champagne) exploration
  • Multiple swimming stops in Capri's turquoise bays and hidden coves
  • Sightseeing of natural landmarks: Faraglioni rock formations, Arco Naturale arch, Punta Carena Lighthouse
  • Villa Malaparte and Scugnizzo statue viewpoints
  • Included meal at a waterfront restaurant on the island
  • Expert captain narration during coastal navigation

Insider tips

  • Bring reef-safe sunscreen and reapply frequently—the Mediterranean sun reflects off the water intensely, and shade is limited on the boat
  • Wear a swimsuit under your clothes to save time during swimming stops; the water stays cool even in summer
  • Book early-morning departures if possible to beat afternoon crowds at the Blue Grotto and maximise underwater light quality
  • Pack a waterproof phone case if you want to photograph underwater scenes or caves—spray from sea caves is frequent

Good to know

  • Total duration is 8 hours; confirm exact boarding time (typically early morning from Sorrento port) with supplier 24 hours prior
  • Bring a light jacket or sweater—sea breezes cool rapidly, especially in spring and autumn
  • The tour includes one meal at a coastal restaurant; check dietary requirements with the operator beforehand if needed
  • Moderate fitness level recommended; boarding involves steps onto a moving boat and swimming ability is assumed for cave exploration
  • Seasickness medication advisable if prone; the Gulf of Naples can be choppy, especially in winter months
