Elafonisi Island Paradise - from Rethimnon

Travel inland through gently rolling hills, stopping at the charming hillside town of Voulgaro – where you’ll sample a tasty local cheese pie. Afterwards, it’s just a short journey to the celebrated Elafonisi lagoon where you can relax on the coral-colored sands and swim in the turquoise waters.

Before returning to Rethymnon, you’ll stop by the Cave of St Sophia – a network of ancient caverns, you’ll marvel at the stalagmites and stalactites and learn about the 4th century Roman pottery discovered here.
