The tour starts following the beautiful seaside road of Fanari with a photo stop at the location of Katavothres and the sink holes, a geological phenomenon first observed in 1835 and the Lighthouse. We continue to the Kastro and what was the original capital of the island St George’s Castle. </p><p style="font-size:14px;line-height:1.6;color:#57646f;margin-top:0.5em;margin-bottom:0.5em">Shortly after, we start heading north and to the lovely village of Assos, one of the most beautiful villages of Kefalonia. Colorful houses, blooming flowers, and charming chapels give this lovely settlement a romantic and traditional character. The most important monument in the village is the Castle of Assos, built by the Venetians during the 16th century. </p><p style="font-size:14px;line-height:1.6;color:#57646f;margin-top:0.5em;margin-bottom:0.5em">Next stop is the cosmopolitan Fiscardo, a seaside village, which still stands as a model of the old port, untouched after the great earthquake of 1953. Narrow streets, paved paths, houses painted in salmon, pink and yellow with red-tiled roofs make this place like a fairytale landscape.
