This tour will drive you through olive groves, vineyards and thick cypress glades. It starts following the beautiful sea side road of Fanari with a photo stop at the location of Katavothres, a geological phenomenon first observed in 1835 and the Lighthouse. Following to the Kastro and what was the original capital of the island, St George’s Castle. Shortly after, we start heading north, to one of the most beautiful villages, Assos. Colorful houses, blooming flowers and charming chapels give to this lovely settlement a romantic and traditional character. The most important monument in the village is the Castle of Assos, built from the Venetians during the 16th century. Next stop is the cosmopolitan Fiscardo, a seaside village, which still stands as a model of the old port, untouched after the great earthquake of 1953. Narrow streets, paved paths, houses painted in salmon, pink and yellow with red tiled roofs make this place like a fairytale landscape. After a photo stop at the spectacular Myrtos Beach, we will meet another beautiful location surrounded by sea and fir tree cloaked mountains, Agia Efimia - a charming fishing village with a number of traditional Greek waterside cafes, tavernas and a good selection of shops. Continuing we will have the chance to visit two of the most idyllic places, the subterranean lake of Melissani, where small boats carrying visitors to admire the spectacular sight of the stalactites and the changing kaleidoscopic colors of the water and Drogarati Cave, discovered 300 years ago when an earthquake exposed the entrance, this spectacular two million-year-old cavern features stunning rock formations (enhanced by hidden lighting) and a magnificent hall called "Sala of Apotheosis"
