Deep-Sea Fishing Charter

For anglers, this three-day charter heads well offshore in search of Thailand's hard-fighting game fish — barracuda, trevally, queenfish and whatever else is running — with a local crew, all the gear and a boat built for the deep water. It's a proper fishing expedition rather than a token hour on the water.

Days are spent working reefs, drop-offs and open sea, with the skipper's local knowledge putting you on the fish and two nights' accommodation between sessions to rest and recharge. A professional video of the trip means you leave with more than just the fish tales.

Fishing has sustained Thailand's coastal communities for centuries, and the crews running these charters usually come from long lines of local fishermen. Catch-and-release is encouraged for billfish and other vulnerable species, keeping the sport sustainable.

Best time to go

The calmest seas and best fishing generally fall in the dry months of the relevant coast — roughly November to April on the Andaman side and February to September on the Gulf. Your operator will time departures around sea conditions.
