About this activity

Cross the Aegean Sea by high-speed catamaran for a full day exploring Rhodes, a UNESCO World Heritage island rich with medieval architecture and ancient ruins. With a 50-minute journey each way and 6+ hours on the island, you'll have ample time to wander the atmospheric Old Town and discover Greek history at your own pace.

Enjoy a full-day excursion from Marmaris to the island of Rhodes. Make the short 50-minute crossing in comfort by catamaran and have plenty of free time to explore Rhodes once you’ve arrived.

It is possible to find guided tours from Mandraki Harbor or to take a taxi to travel around the island. The best option, however, is to explore the island on your own as most of the tourist attractions are in walking distance of the harbor.

Explore the walled medieval town, which has been declared a World Heritage Site. Walk along its narrow streets and visit the numerous historical sites. Among the most important monuments are the well-preserved Venetian Castle, the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of St. John, Freedom Gate, the Church of St. Paul, and the Temple of Aphrodite. You’ll also want to see the legendary Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Wonders of the Ancient World.

Rhodes has plenty of shops stocking famous brands, local goods, handicrafts, and souvenirs. There are many restaurants, cafés, and bars in the town, where you can enjoy refreshments or a delicious lunch of Greek cuisine.

You’ll also find small bistros and tavernas in the backstreets, which serve authentic Greek dishes and are definitely worth a visit.

Return to Marmaris at approximately 18:00.

  • Small family-run tavernas in side streets offer better value and authentic dishes than waterfront restaurants

Good to know

  • Comfortable walking shoes essential—cobblestone streets and uneven surfaces throughout the Old Town
  • Bring sun protection and water; limited shade in medieval streets during peak heat
  • Return ferry departs approximately 18:00; meet at Mandraki Harbour with your return ticket at least 15 minutes early
  • No guide included—self-guided exploration recommended, though local taxi tours and paid guides available at the harbour
