We get our boat to Chrissi from Ierapetra. We are at the most southern town of Europe. Our sail lasts 1hour. We cross the Libyan Sea to the uninhabited island which is full of green and magical crystal clear waters.
On Chrissi island we will have about 4h30min to explore the exotic beaches (similar to Caribbean) covered by white sand and millions of small shells. Our lunch will be offered from the boat.
At our sailing back when we reach Ierapetra we will have free time to walk along the beautiful beach road , perhaps some small shopping until we embark our buses to return to our starting points.

- Picked up on time - Interesting bus trip - Boat trip was comfortable and breezy - Chrissi island is a gem. White sand, crystal-clear water, many trees, untouched environment. You can literally find shells all over the place (some of them are big and some of them are the size of your pinky nail). We had enough time to explore the island and we took some pretty decent pictures on our Instagram account. - Ierapetra is beautiful too. We walked around, bought an ice cream and took some pictures too before heading back to the bus.
We were staying in Hersonissos so we were picked up on time by the staff but, we left from Heraklion a bit late because a couple was late and we were waiting for 10 minutes approx (the driver was extremely kind and asked us first if we are okay with this, that's professionalism). Anyway, when we arrived in Ierapetra me and my boyfriend grabbed some snacks and water from a shop there and continued our journey. The boat ride was very pleasant (thankfully the weather was on our side) and when we arrived at Chrissi we were given instructions on what time to be back. We started exploring the island and found many interesting spots to swim. The best part of this island is the pink sand you can find in certain spots and the fact that the sand is covered with little shells (yes, you read correctly!). Shells were everywhere and it is something I have never seen before. Although we wanted to take some with us, we respected the rules and left them in their natural environment :). We were a bit sad when the time to leave came, but we are already planning our next visit there! :)
