About this activity

A comprehensive 4-hour introduction to Budapest combining a guided bus tour of the city's iconic landmarks with a scenic 1-hour Danube river cruise. You'll see Parliament, Castle District, Gellért Hill, and Heroes' Square while learning 1000 years of Hungarian history, then experience the city's architectural beauty from the water.

We start the tour from the Chain Bridge, pass by the Parliament and take the Margaret Bridge to drive over to the Buda side. We stop in the Castle District and during a short walk we show you the main attractions of the area. We walk to the Matthias Church and the Fishermen's Bastion (from where you can enjoy the beautiful panorama).

Next, we drive to Gellért Hill (Citadel) and show you the most spectacular view of Budapest. Afterwards, we take you over the Elisabeth Bridge to Pest and show you the famous Central Market Hall and the largest Synagogue of Europe, afterwards we drive to the City Park. We pass by the famous Széchenyi Thermal Bath, the Budapest Zoo, then stop at the Heroes' Square (with statues of the most famous Hungarian kings and dukes).
We take the Andrássy Avenue back to downtown Pest, while passing by the Opera House and St Stephen's Basilica. During the tour, we offer a brief overview of the last 1000 years of Hungarian history.

After the 3-hour city tour, we take a 1-hour long river cruise on the Danube to see the sites of Budapest from a different perspective. During the boat tour you can refresh yourself with a glass of drink (choice of champagne, wine, beer, soft drinks, mineral water) and enjoy the commentary of the audio guide (available in 30 languages).

Tour ends at the pier / city centre.

Please note: This tour does not include hotel pick up and drop off service. This means that you will have to arrange your transfer on your own in order to reach the designated meeting point and start the tour.
