Insider tips

  • Book the Polaris if you prefer automatic transmission and easier handling on rough terrain; buggies require more active steering control.
  • Wear water shoes or sandals you don't mind getting wet—the cave cenote has shallow entry but slippery rocks.
  • Arrive early in your hotel pickup window; the route passes through working farms where timing affects when you catch farmers and sample quality.
  • The plantation villages are quieter and more photogenic in early morning; midday brings tour crowds.

Good to know

  • Hotel pickup and drop-off included; confirm your hotel location at booking (applies to major Punta Cana resorts).
  • Bring swimwear, towel, and waterproof bag for phone/camera; helmets and vehicle insurance provided.
  • Minimum age/driver experience may apply for self-driving; clarify at pickup if you're an inexperienced driver.
  • Unpaved jungle roads are rough; not recommended for passengers with back/neck issues or those uncomfortable with bumpy terrain.
  • Tour operates in small groups (typically 4–8 vehicles); expect moderate noise and dust.
