About this activity

Escape to a certified organic aromatic garden nestled in the Ourika Valley, where 50+ indigenous Moroccan plants are cultivated for their therapeutic and cosmetic properties. This 8-hour immersion combines guided botany walks with optional wellness treatments and traditional craft workshops, all set against the foothills of the High Atlas.

Book your desired tour option (Royal Relax Package / Health, Wellness and Beauty / Family Package) and then depart your Marrakech hotel or riad by private, air-conditioned vehicle with your personal guide.

Traveling southeast, admire Morocco’s countryside and arrive in the Ourika Valley, a fairy tale-like valley in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains.

Pass through villages, palm groves, and orchards, and arrive at the Jardin Bio-aromatique of l’Ourika, a gorgeous garden dedicated to cultivating organic plants and herbs. This tranquil paradise showcases around 50 aromatic, medicinal, and ornamental plants, most indigenous to Morocco and believed to offer health and cosmetic qualities.

Take a guided walk around the pathways to discover the different varieties of plants, from lavender and roses to lemongrass, rosemary, and more. Breathe in the scents, colors, and mountain air, and learn how the plants are grown and used in essential oils and beauty, well-being, and dietary products.

Depending on your selected option, enjoy one or some of the treatments and workshops on offer in the grounds. Perhaps take a soothing 30-minute foot bath and massage, complete with warm water bath of sea salts and bitter orange oil and a rejuvenating argan oil and lemon verbena massage.

Alternatively, enjoy a package of three experiences: a foot bath and massage, a henna workshop to learn about and get a henna tattoo, and an argan oil workshop to discover how this prized oil is pressed and used.

After your garden visit, enjoy a stroll in the wider valley to admire the gorgeous scenery. Break for a delicious lunch in view of the Atlas peaks, and climb to a viewpoint to absorb and take photos of the stunning mountain-and-valley panoramas.

After about seven hours, your tour ends with a drop-off back at your Marrakech accommodation.
