Insider tips

  • Day 3 is free in Cairo—use it to rest before the Nile cruise or explore local markets and neighbourhood food stalls at your own pace
  • Pack light layers for the Nile cruise; mornings and evenings are cool, afternoons hot; the ship's air conditioning can be strong
  • Wadi Rum camping is authentic but basic—bring a torch and moisture-resistant toiletries; sunrise over the desert is spectacular
  • Dead Sea mud is therapeutic but saltwater stings eyes; rinse thoroughly after floating and bring flip-flops for the slippery shore

  • Lunch included on Day 2 Cairo tour; other meals not specified in itinerary—budget for independent meals on free day and in Amman
