About this activity

A challenging 6.5-hour traverse across Bergen's iconic Vidden plateau, linking the city's two most famous peaks—Mount Ulriken (643m) and Mount Fløyen (300m). This legendary route showcases wild, untouched Norwegian mountain terrain just minutes from the city centre, often compared to Hardangervidda National Park.

A hard, but also legendary walk across the ‘Vidden’ plateau. 6-7 hours, really a day to remember!

Time: Approx. 6-7 hours with breaks. We are returning Bergen city centre between 15-1630.
Level: Hard / Medium for experienced hikers.
Terrain: Rocky and can be muddy and wet.
Elevation: 643 m – 300 m.
Km: 14 ( Cable car up/funicular down) / 17 km.

On this trip, we really see the untouched nature in Norway, and it is very difficult to imagine that we are not far from Bergen city centre. Many compare this part with the Hardangervidda National Park.

The walk is from Mt Ulriken to Mt Fløyen. Starting from Mt Ulriken makes for an easier walk, and you get great views of Bergen and the Byfjord.
