About this activity

Spend an intimate evening at a private forest cottage in Rovaniemi, combining a candlelit traditional Finnish dinner with a guided aurora hunt through snow-lit woodlands. This exclusive experience (max 8 people) takes place at the secluded Happy Fox Forest Farm, where you'll warm up by a log fire, enjoy local cuisine, and learn Finnish folklore while searching for the northern lights.

The unique log house “The Fox Cottage” is in the midst of the forest at the private forest farm. Inside the Fox Cottage, we will enjoy the warmth of a log fire and a beautiful milieu under the crystal chandeliers. We will have a delicious traditional Finnish dinner on candlelight with a good company.

After dinner, we will make an unforgettable forest walk on a lantern light and learn about Finnish folklore, nature and auroras. During our walk, we will enter a perfect spot to look for Auroras.

The Happy Fox Forest Farm is a private place so there will be no other groups at the same time.

You may attend the trip wearing outdoor clothing or get your winter gear (overalls, winter boots) from us.

This trip is for private or small (max. 8 people) group.

Please note: This tour includes pick up and drop off service from designated pick up points. Simply select the pick up place of your preference from the list under the availability section and our driver will be on his way!

Please note: If you don't want to be picked up, you can meet us at Happy Fox Forest Farm.

Insider tips

  • Arrive with an open sky forecast; aurora activity is most likely on clear, moonless nights between September–March.
  • Wear layers under your overalls—you'll be stationary outdoors for extended periods, so thermal base layers and wool socks make a real difference.
  • The lantern-lit walk is part of the magic; bring a camera with manual mode if you want to capture aurora shots yourself.
  • If you're flexible on dates, book during new moon phases for darker skies and better aurora visibility.

Good to know

  • Duration is 3 hours total (includes dinner and forest walk); pick-up from central Rovaniemi points is included, or meet directly at the farm.
  • Maximum group size is 8 people, keeping the experience intimate and exclusive.
  • Winter clothing (overalls, thermal boots) is provided on-site if you don't bring your own; comfortable indoor shoes for the cottage recommended.
  • Aurora sightings are never guaranteed due to weather and solar activity—this is a nature experience, not a performance.
  • No children under 8 implied by small-group, late-evening nature activity; confirm age policies with supplier.
