About this activity

We’ll explore the phenomena of nature, as it awakens after a long winter, together at the Happy Fox forest farm. We’ll go onshore at the Ounasjoki river to admire the breaking ice, spring whitewater and blocks of ice passing by. If we’re lucky, we may experience a grand show of releasing ice jams.

As we continue towards the onshore birches, we get to watch the collection of sap and have a taste of this natural elixir. We’ll explore the plants and herbs that are peeking out from between patches of snow and take a walk to the forest to admire the nature that slowly awakens from hibernation.

Upon arrival back to the farm, the tour ends with some herbal tea or campfire coffee and pie or sausages, which we’ll cook over an open fire at a lean-to.

Our guides are local guides with a real knowledge of the arctic nature, so the nature trip with us is a genuine experience.
