Start exploring at the majestic waterfront complex of the Bang Pa-In Palace, the former summer residence of Thai royalty. After roaming its ponds, gardens, and pavilions, continue to the temple of Wat Mahathat, where you can see a special tree with the face of Buddha encased in its trunk.
