About this activity

Escape Brussels for a full-day immersion in Amsterdam's iconic canals, golden-age architecture, and Dutch heritage. This 12-hour guided tour combines curated stops at artisanal cheese and clog makers, a windmill photo opportunity, and a walkable orientation of Dam Square before leaving you free to explore the city at your own pace.

Upon arrival in Amsterdam, we visit a local crafts center where you see the production of traditional cheeses and clogs.

Time for a short photo break near a traditional quaint Dutch windmill. We drive on to the heart of Amsterdam, passing the Dutch National Bank and the former Heineken brewery museum.

This is an unforgettable way to discover the old city and it is undoubtedly the number one attraction of Holland’s capital. Next stop: we take you to Amsterdam’s most famous square called the “DAM”.

The guide takes you on a brief guided walk to the Royal Palace and other highlights of the city. Then it is time for some free time. Stroll along the shopping streets, visit the flower market, walk on your own through the historical Red Light District.

Just enjoy!

Please note: This tour does not include hotel pick up and drop off service. This means that you will have to arrange your own transfers in order to reach the designated meeting point and start the tour. Meeting point: Grasmarkt Straat 82. Please be there at least 20 minutes prior to departure time.

Highlights

  • Traditional Dutch cheese and clog production workshop
  • Picturesque windmill photo stop
  • Guided walk past the Royal Palace and Dam Square landmarks
  • Self-guided exploration of Amsterdam's historic centre, canals, and shopping districts
  • Optional visits to the Flower Market and Red Light District
  • Views of the former Heineken brewery and Dutch National Bank

Insider tips

  • Arrive at Grasmarkt Straat 82 at least 20 minutes early; the meeting point is central and easy to find but punctuality is critical for group departures.
  • Use your free time strategically: the Flower Market (Bloemenmarkt) is best visited mid-morning before crowds; the Red Light District is safer and less intrusive during daylight hours.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes—Amsterdam's canal-side streets are uneven and you'll cover significant ground on foot during the guided portion and free exploration.

Good to know

  • Hotel pick-up and drop-off are not included; arrange your own transport to the meeting point in central Brussels.
  • The tour is a mix of guided stops and independent exploration, so pace yourself during free time if mobility is a concern.
  • Bring a camera for the windmill stop and bring cash or cards for shopping, food, and market visits during free time.
