Insider tips

  • Arrive 15 minutes early at Hvar Port to secure a spot in the sun or shade on the boat — shaded seating fills quickly
  • Wear reef-safe sunscreen; the caves offer minimal shade and water reflection intensifies UV exposure
  • Pack a light dryer and extra clothes for lunch at Laganini; the boat journey can be wet and windy
  • Ask the guide at Blue Cave about the underwater light phenomenon — best photographed mid-morning when sun angle is optimal

Good to know

  • Meeting point: Port of Hvar; departure 10:30 AM, return 18:30 (8-hour day including travel and stops)
  • Bring: swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, waterproof phone case, light snacks if dietary needs; wear water shoes for rocky access
  • Snorkeling gear (mask, fins, snorkel) provided; own gear welcome
  • Boat is fast and can be bumpy in rough seas — not ideal for very young children or motion-sensitive travellers
  • Lunch at Laganini beach bar is self-pay; budget €15–25 for drinks and food
