Did you know? Zion National Park

Zion Canyon's red cliffs are composed of Navajo Sandstone, the same rock formation that creates the hoodoos of Bryce Canyon and the arches of Moab.

Angels Landing's iconic trail gains 1,500 feet in elevation over 5.4 miles and requires chains bolted into rock to climb the final spine, making it one of America's most challenging day hikes.

The park's name comes from a biblical reference meaning 'place of refuge,' adopted by Mormon settlers who arrived in the 1860s.

Zion receives over 4 million visitors annually, but the Narrows hike—where you walk directly through the Virgin River between 1,000-foot canyon walls—remains one of the park's most unforgettable and least crowded experiences.

Watchman Trail offers one of the park's best sunset views and is only 3.3 miles round-trip, making it ideal for visitors with limited time or fitness levels.
