Things to Do in Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik's entire Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was meticulously reconstructed after the 1991–1995 Siege, with original limestone restored stone by stone.

The city walls encircling Dubrovnik are 1,940 metres long and date back to the 13th century, making them among the most intact medieval fortifications in Europe.

Dubrovnik was the capital of the independent maritime Republic of Ragusa from the 14th to 18th centuries, rivalling Venice as a Mediterranean trading power.

The Stradun (main street) is perfectly level because it was built over a channel that once separated two islands; the channel was filled in during the 12th century.
