Things to Do in Belogradchik

Belogradchik Fortress is built atop a 500-meter-high rock formation and dates back to Roman times, with layers added by Byzantine, Ottoman, and Bulgarian rulers.

The town sits in the Balkan Mountains near the Danube River, roughly 100 kilometers south of the Romanian border in northwestern Bulgaria.

Belogradchik's surrounding rock formations are famous for their striking red, white, and golden hues, created by iron oxide and other mineral deposits in the sandstone.
