Nairobi National Park is the only protected area in the world with a major city skyline visible from the safari, creating an surreal backdrop of giraffes and zebras with high-rise buildings behind them.
The park was established in 1946 and covers 117 square kilometres, making it one of Kenya's most accessible yet wildlife-rich reserves within sight of the capital.
Nairobi National Park is a critical refuge for endangered black rhinos and has one of the highest concentrations of this species in Kenya.
The park's southern boundary is unfenced, allowing wildlife to migrate freely to the larger Athi-Kapiti ecosystem, which extends towards Tanzania.

The park's ivory-burning site, created in 1989 to destroy 12 tonnes of confiscated ivory, stands as a powerful symbol of Kenya's anti-poaching commitment.
