We start our tour by learning about the 1940’s Greek-Italian war and its significance as starting point for operation Mercury and the battle of Crete.
Explore the actual WWII battleground and how it affected life on the island as much as it did the world. A tour around the battleground and detailed descriptions and maps give the visitors an idea of how it unfolded during those 12 days of May 1941.
We visit the German war cemetery in Maleme, where German paratroopers were laid to rest in peace, overlooking the battleground.
A few kilometers to the east, at Souda Bay, we pay homage to the Allied troops who died valiantly, fighting alongside the locals. A perfect way to appreciate the sacrifice of the locals and foreigners, who fought to keep our country free.
