Description

Bohemian Paradise was declared as the first protected area in Czechia (since 1955) and first UNESCO Geopark in the country. This landscape is known for its typical sandstone rock formations (Dragon's tooth or Bandleader), the most developed rock town in Czechia and charming castles and chateaus.

Your private guide and driver will pick you up at your Prague place. After approx. 1,5h of a comfortable drive you reach the Bohemian Paradise National park. It was recognized as the first protected scenic district of Czechoslovakia and later as the first UNESCO Geopark in Czechia. A Geopark is a unique area with an exceptional variety of both animate and inanimate nature, interestingly combined with a number of cultural and historic sites. Read Less

You will find there also the most developed Czech rock town with formations consisting of dozens of uniquely shaped natural sandstone towers. The pinnacles were formed 90 mil. years ago and today they reach as much as 80 metres high. Some of them were given weird names as The Lighthouse, The Bandleader and The Dragon’s Rocks.

This area offers plenty of castles and chateaus. Within the hike (altogether around 8 km = 5 miles, adjustable) you will enjoy Trosky castle with a breathtaking view of the landscape, then Hruba Skala chateau where the Czech fairy tales were filmed and finally one of the oldest castles in Czechia, the seat of noble family Wallenstein.
