Description

Bohemian Paradise was declared as the first protected area in Czechia (since 1955) and first UNESCO geopark in the country. This landscape is known for its typical sandstone rock formations (Dragon's tooth or Bandleader), the most developed rock town in Czechia and charming castles and chateaus.

On this hiking trip you will see three of them - Hruba Skala chateau (shooting place for Czech fairy tales), Trosky and Wallenstein castle. Each one will attract you with different history, stories and spirit. Car fans can also visit the SKODA car museum or factory on the way (optional).

You will find there also the most developed Czech rock town with formations consisting of dozens of uniquely shaped natural sandstone towers. The pinnacles were formed 90 mil. years ago and today they reach as much as 80 metres high. Some of them were given weird names as The Lighthouse, The Bandleader and The Dragon’s Rocks.

Within the hike (altogether around 8 km = 5 miles, adjustable) you will enjoy Trosky castle with a breathtaking view of the landscape, then Hruba skala chateau where the Czech fairy tales were filmed and finally one of the oldest castles in Czechia, seat of noble family Wallenstein.
